BEFORE INSTALLATION: How to choose the right frames The choice for the type of frame you will get is entirely up to you. But you must take into account the particularities and needs of your house or building, the climatic conditions prevailing in your area and of course the commitments imposed by urban planning. Particular importance should be given to the characteristics of the performance and operation of the frames as described in the relevant certificates and of course the relationship between value and price.
AFTER INSTALLATION: In order to be able to admire your frames for many years, the following must be observed, regarding cleanliness and the correct use and maintenance of the frames:
Cleanliness of frames
- Immediately after completing the installation of the frames in the building, the protective tapes must be removed and the surfaces cleaned.
- The frames are carefully washed without the use of caustic cleaners and without the use of a brush, sandpaper or any object that could injure their surface or their mechanisms. Use mild detergents (such as those for washing dishes).
- You should also be careful to remove any foreign bodies from the water drainage chambers (in the cases) so that the water can drain freely.
- The cleaning process must take place during hours when the building is protected from solar radiation. After cleaning, the surfaces must be rinsed with plenty of clean water.
Maintenance of frames
- Once every six months all moving parts of the mechanism as well as the hinges should be lubricated with silicone spray grease.
- We do the same with the tires (central and peripheral). Spray with the same spray and wipe with a clean cloth.
- To check the good operation of the locks and handles of the frames, the sash should be closed.
- In sliding frames, we check the correct scrolling of the leaves. If we notice any difficulty, we again call the specialist LATO repairer who installed them.
- At rare intervals (once a year) we also check the sealing rubbers or brushes.
ATTENTION: Prior maintenance with mineral products, oil, common grease, gasoline, solvents is not permitted. There is a risk of damage to the materials.
CAUTION: It is not allowed to rub the frames with sandpaper, wires, metal brushes, metal spatulas or blades. There is a risk of damage to the materials. In case we notice difficulty in using the mechanical parts of a frame, we never try to force them into operation, we call the specialist LATO repair technician who installed them.
